这项研究以输卵管等组织的取样需求为切入点。常规病理处理中，组织经过固定后适合观察形态，但细胞通常无法再用于活体实验。新装置希望保留这些细胞的研究价值，使科学家能够建立类器官或其他疾病模型，并比较不同处理条件下的反应。团队已在离体组织上验证定点采样和活细胞回收能力，为更精细的早期病变研究提供工具。现阶段展示的是组织采集技术，并不意味着已经形成面向健康人群的癌症筛查方法。未来还需确定它与病理流程的衔接方式，以及不同组织、不同采样区域之间的结果一致性。
