2026年10月，詹姆斯·韦布空间望远镜公布恒星形成区NGC 7129的新图像，揭示被尘埃遮挡的年轻恒星与喷流活动。该区域距离地球约3300光年，红外观测可以穿过部分尘埃，让天文学家看到恒星诞生过程中气体受到加热、压缩和冲击的细节。

图像中央的明亮恒星仍处于正式进入主序之前的阶段，质量约为太阳的五至八倍。它的早期外流和辐射在周围云团中塑造出跨度约3.5光年的空腔，一些气体被吹离，另一些则受到挤压，可能为新的恒星形成创造条件。附近年轻恒星发出的风又在气体中留下弯曲冲击结构。不同区域显示出温度和分子状态的差异，帮助研究人员追踪云团如何被逐渐改造。公开画面中的金色和红色用于表现不同物理成分，并非人眼在现场能够直接看到的真实颜色。这次观测为比较恒星不同成长阶段与周围环境的相互影响提供了新的红外资料。
